mobility x600 and ATITool

my lappy gateway mx7525 has a mobility x600 (128mb). standard settings are 400/260. I would like to get an extra 10fps out of it. since it's a laptop i don't wana mess w/ voltages or run it too hot. I've heard people getting it up to 500/350 but i'm not sure how hot that runs. anyway, i installed and ran ATITool. i used it to OC my desktop so i was familiar w/ the functionality. For some reason, when i run ATITool, the stock clock speeds shows up as 0.0 for my gpu and mem. i was unable to manually move the slider, so i hit the max gpu option. it ran for about 15 seconds and then crashed. i've searched support for ATITool and found one other person w/ that problem, but they didn't give a resolution.

am i skipping a step for ATITool to work w/ the x600? is there another program i can use? are my +10fps too aggressive for a laptop overclock?

thanks for any info you can give!
