Mobility X300 or Mobility 9700?

I heard that the 9700 is very picky with drivers though, just FYI. This is 3rd party, so I consider it speculation, but take it as you will. I would still choose the 9700.
 
A MR9700 is basically an overclocked 9600.
An X600 is basically an overclocked (+PCIe) 9600. Therefore, a 9700 would be comparable to an X600. An X300 is about half of an X600.

The 9700 is the obvious choice, by a factor of two. I'm pretty sure, though, that the X300 would draw less power, for more battery life.

very true. the 9700 is annoying to get good drivers for.
