I've been using this baby for the longest time and Frankly I've been impressed that my laptop can run HL2 without much trouble, even at higher resolutions.
Anyway a short time ago while playing Rome I got this checkerboard grid appearing over every single object in the game. When I exited out to desktop my mouse cursor had this checkerboard box following it around all over the screen. My desktop looks normal but whenever I opened a video file everything had the grid over it. The problem goes away, stayed away for a while, and now just recently came back while playing IL-2. I originally had the driver set to OPENGL, but when I changed it back to DirectX I got the grid again. It stayed even when I changed it back to Open GL. Im using Omega drivers, upgraded those but still not problem solved. Here are some pictures:

The problem seems to be triggered only by GAMES and lasts for a short time.
I'm assuming that this is a hardware problem? Have any of you guys seen anything like this before?
Thanks
