My friend just ordered a Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop with a 3Ghz/HT and Radeon 9700. He likes to game so I recommended it to him. It was like $1580 plus tax. (free shipping, 10% off, etc.)

Anyway, my question was: What are the clocks on a mobile 9700 ? I assume it has a full 8x1 architecture.

Anyone have any idea what type of 3dMark2k1 he would get?

I'll know in 2-3 weeks when it comes in. We play SOF2 all the time and this will be cool that he can play on the road... at all these hotels that have high speed LAN or wireless hot spots.
 
Its actually a 4x1 architecture. The core can reach up to 450MHz and the memory up to around 260MHz IIRC.
 
That really sucks. My mobility 9600 pro in my hyperdata notebook can oc to 450 core and 235 mem without problems.
