Mobile pin mod problem

I have a MSI K7D Master and a couple of mobiles. I blowed up the L5 bridges and they were recognized as Athlon MP, no problems so far. I do the pin mod, 1,5 Vcore and 14 multi (i don´t want to overclock, stock speeds are fine). I boot up with just one processor, and everything is fine but the Vcore is 1,8 and the temps are above 60. I then try to adjust Vcore through BIOS but if I reboot the voltage gets back to 1,8. Any ideas of what´s going on?

I´m using this cooler with AS5
 
Mobiles use a different table to translate the 5 bit VID to Vcore. Your BIOS is recognizing it as a mobile, and is not using the desktop VID table that you expected.

You can get the mobile tech-sheet from AMD's site, or google a bit to find the VID to Vcore table for mobiles.
 
I´m sorry, i should have specified that i´m no master, noob with experience, at best :eek:

What you´re saying is that i shouldn´t do the Vcore part of the pin mod? Or that i should find the apropriate Vcore for my CPU and set it on the BIOS?
 
You can do a Vcore pin mod, but you have to find the correct table to for 'which pins to what voltage', the standard desktop CPU table will give the wrong voltage with a mobile. Or you could set the voltage in BIOS; BIOS settings may or may not give the voltage you expect, but it would make it easier to adjust up or down 'til you find the one you like.
 
Allright, I removed the pins of the Volt mod and set the Vcore trough BIOS, at 1,475 it stays stable on 1,45 and the idle temps are down to 49. Still a bit too high, tried reseatting the heatsink with AS5 with no results, I´m thinking of using thermaltake´s grease, Is it any good?
