What's the deal with the new mobile Penryn processors? They were released January 6th but are still almost impossible to find. Looking through manufacturers websites, the few that have them offered list a backorder or delay. Pretty much everything I read prior to their release suggested that manufacturers were going to be quick to implement the new chips. Did something happen?

no need to say "mobile penryn", that IS the codename for the laptop chips...

As to the substance of the question, dont know. AFAIK they are pin compatible and should just be dropin. Availability perhaps?

I have a Penryn-based Sager 5792 on order right now. A week ago I was told the laptop would be shipping "in about a week." I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it goes out today.
