Um, mobiles need to run on batteries, so of course it's not the same 100W+ beast. It uses the same Nehalem core and has the same features as the desktop version with a couple of exceptions (dual channel vs tri channel MC). And it's not like it won't be the fastest mobile processor on release for the class that it targets.

Waiting for these for my next laptop, can't wait. My old A64 3400+ and its Radeon 9700 pro need to be put to pasture.

However I thought the mobile version was going to be a dual core chip with HT? That wikipedia article shows it's a quad with HT. Hmmmm. I would be fine or even prefer a dual core Nehalem based chip for a lappy, just from need vs power usage. I just need a lappy to surf the net and then act as a mobile game machine when I visit friends out of state.

Also waiting for mobile nehalem for my next laptop.
clarkfield is the quad version, at 35W IIRC.
arrandale is the dual version, at 10-xW.
both are based on s1156, rather than s1366.

It's actually socket mPGA-989. I may sell my current laptop and grab one of these as well.

its actually mPGA-989, but its BASED on the s1156 socket, meaning the board layout is P55 rather than X58.
