Mobile 2500+ overclocking help!!!

I want to put an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (mobile) in my Asus A7N8X-X motherboard. First of all, this will work right? Second, what would be the ideal overclock of this chip (multiplier=x.x , FSB mhz= xxx , and voltage = x.xx).? I've only overclocked 2500+ (non-mobile) by increasing the FSB, so I don't know what the multiplier should ideally be.

there is no ideal setting for any chip really. youll have to find it your self. my basic way of overclocking goes as follows...

start with a fsb you know your board can handle. for starters say less then 200. also youll want to start with a low multiplier, say 9 for the 2500+ since stock MHz is ~1800. 200x9 should be able to be reached with stock voltage of 1.45.

after that ill start upping the multiplier by .5 increments, which at 200 fsb are 100 MHz increments. only increasing voltage by .5v increments once a lock-up or crash in windows during stress testing.

if your going to be using the pc3200 ram in your sig id suggest staying at 200 fsb until you reach your overall cpu MHz limit. after that you can start raising your fsb and dropping your multiplier accordingly. youll also need to increase memory voltage when pushing your ram out of stock speed specs. after you found your sweet spot between fsb and multiplier then i would start adjusting memory timings and memory voltage. for amd systems its always best to stay 1:1. meaning your fsb is in sync with your memory.
