Mixing Registered with Unbuffered RAM?

Will mixing a 512MB PC2100 stick of Registered with a 256MB PC2100 stick of Unbuffered RAM cause some system lag?

They should be fine, the system will default to the lower-spec RAM.

THANK YOU! Now I know the source of my lag. Haha. I just had an extra 256 stick sitting around and I just realized it wasn't Registered the other day. Again, thanks much!

very. registered ram and unbuffered ram shouldn't work together from what i understand. my guess is that what i know isn't quite true. i need to play with servers more

The buffer chip just probably isnt being used on the PC2100R.

Well... I knew ECC and Non-ECC wouldn't work together (at least it didn't in my board - Haha I have way too much extra ram just sitting around). I'm trying to find someone willing to trade some non-ECC for this ECC stick and then we'll see what happens for performance.
