I currently have a 512 MB geil pc2700 ddr RAM stick in my pc. if I get the same capacity ram at the same speed but from a different manufacturer, will it cause problems?

Personally I would just buy another stick of the same Pc2700 you currently have. I have mixed ram before and had no problem, but I have also mixed ram and had alot of problems. If it is another stick of Pc2700 it is better then trying to put in a stick of something slower.

I don't have any problems running the KVR PC3200 and GEIL PC4000 together at settings listed. I can see where you'd run into problems if you were trying to mix some low latency BH-5 with some 3-4-4-8 RAM or something like that.

alright, well the reason I wanted to know was because I could just get it off newegg but I'd rather run over to the local parts store and snag up some on payday cuz I wanna run thief 3 :D
