Hey guys i currently have the following specs and am looking at getting some more ram (undecdided if you have any suggestions please feel free to voice them :D) but im not sure whether it is wise to run mixed memory as i planned on purchasing a 2x1gb set of ram of some sort and i currently have 2x512mb OCZ VX sticks @ 2-2-2-6.
System specs are:

AMD 3500+ Venice
7800GTX
2x512mb OCZ VX @ 2-2-2-6
DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI-DR

it'll work fine, my friend has a setup similar to what you're making. It may be wise to have one 512 and one 1gb on both sides for dual channel.
