I'm wanting to upgrade my wimpy 512mb 3200(2x256). I was thinking about getting 2x512, my mobo has 4 slots. Question is-

Will I get more perfomance with the 2x512mb(like value crucial, corsair) alone, by themself or-

Would I get better performance with the 2x512 & the 2x256. The timings on these are..

@ 200 MHz 3.0-3-3-8 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)

Straight from everest. I don't even know how to OC ram :( so no, I won't be OCing these.

And how much would you pay for 2x512mb 3200 crucial/corsiar the like? I was thinking 60-70 is reasonable.

Ah, if I must lol.

Asustek p4sd-le
P4 2.8ghz northwood
HDDs not important I don't think :p
512mb ram, aleady stated
radeon 9200se(boo)
Raidmax 420watt PSU(suprisingly not too bad).
Windows Xp

Anything else?

properly placed, 2x256mb + 2x512mb should work, but i won't make promises ;)

Alright cool. Do you think it will run as fast with the 1gb value ram without the 2x256? Or the 2x512&2x256 would be faster?

depends a lot on the progs you use. in most cases, the difference should be negligable, but if you play games like FEAR or BF2, or do work with really large picture in photoshop or something, the extra space will help.

Alright cool. The thing is, if I don't really need it, I want to sell it. I play Americas Army, CS 1.6, soon to be CS:S, games like this. I want to get BF2 soon though, so if I need the extra 512mb I would rather keep it.
