Mixing different brand :

I cannot buy the same RAM anymore, because it's not sold.

So, since I run it at 9-9-9-24 1T @ 1600mhz, is it cool to buy some different brand, albeit premium RAM that will run the same timings, and at the same speed ?

Or, should I forklift the 4GB I have, and replace it with larger capacity, matching RAM ?

existing RAM : DDR3 A-Data XMP 2000x 9-9-9-24 @ 1600MHz
new RAM : DDR 3 G.Skill XMP 1600 9-9-9-24 @ 1600Mhz

Thanks in advance and sorry for the multi post over in Mobo. Fat fingered the forum add ..

It will most likely work but you will have to tweak the sub-timings manually on your motherboard to meet the looser of the two.

You should buy matching RAM. You don't have to, but you should.

If you do not, and you have problems, then they will say the problem is you should have done so in the first place and will need to do so then.
