Hey guys,

I'm planning on building a LAN system soon and I had a question about RAM. The system I'm building is a very budget system. I am getting a 256mb stick of pc2700 from my friend, i'm pretty sure it's a stick of Kingston ValueRAM. I was planning on buying another stick of ram myself to throw into the system, and I just saw that I cna get a 256mb stick of HyperX pc2700 for relativley cheap. I know there shouldn't be issues between them normally, but I'm planning on OCing my processor a bit (Barton 2500+/Asus A7N8X.... maybe 11x180 or soemthing... it'll be soemthing I have to judge after putting everyhting together and testing)

Will there be any issues by useing these two sticks of ram (and thier diffrent quality levels)?

well, they're both pc2700 sticks....

Do you know their memory timings? If they're the same, it shouldn't be a problem using them together.

somehow I doubt they're the same timings, but can I flash one of them to run at diffrent timings?

some one correct me here, but you can flash Ram. Check the timings on the manufactures site for each. I would stick with same type ram if you can at all times.

There is one way to find out. Try it (a little at a time).

Cheers,
