Unless you get off on punishing yourself try to only have the same TYPE of card in a rig!
I'm starting to push myself to having every card in the rig match.
I have a rig with 3 7850's and a 270 in it... Gave me problems till I pulled the 270 and put a 4th 7850 in with the rest.
I had a rig with 3 7870's and a 270... random weirdness from time to time until I pulled that 270 and popped in a 7870.
While on paper you may think the 7850 and 270 are the same card or the 7870 and 270x were also the same. Somehow they are drastically different!
The 7970 and 280x all play nicely together so they really are the same.
The worst cards to mix in with anything else is the 290 series which wow don't do it!
I have a wide variety of cards as I was sampling quite a few different vendors and of course doing a ton of mail in rebates. From here on out I am going to try my best to order 4-5 IDENTICAL cards at a time. My target is to buy nothing but 270x cards from here on out. 290x's are STUPID to buy even at MSRP. the 290 @ $399 is worth it if you get Hynix RAM.
