Hi all

I went looking for my system32 folder in order to add a dll file to it and, low and behold, it is missing!

Any ideas as to why my WinXP Home SP2 doesn't have a system32 folder?

It's probably hidden. Go to folder options and somewhere in there is "Show hidden files and folders"

Open command prompt and type - attrib -a -h -r -s c:\windows\system32, and make sure you have hidden files to be shown.

Where are you looking for it? Since you're actually able to load Windows it's definitely there. It should be in the C:\Windows\ folder...

If this is a fresh install, it should be in c:\windows\system32

If this is an upgrade from Win2K it might be at c:\winnt\system32

It seems I had to change the attributes on the folder from the command prompt to get it visible again.

Scan for spyware and viruses using the programs in my signature, just to be safe ;).
