Like the title says, my CD rom's are missing from "Computer". They are showing up in device manager but with the yellow flags because of driver problems.

I've tried using Microsoft Fix It, and I just keep getting a "Error device driver was not installed." error on both drives.

I've tried uninstalling both drives drivers and then re-installing them and this doesn't seem to be doing the trick either. I've tried updating them from device manager as well and it just keeps saying the best driver is installed already.

I cannot seem to figure out what's going on here exactly.

Help?

Where are you getting the drivers from? Don't use microsoft fix it or device manager to find the missing drivers, Microsoft can't possibly have a complete database. Find out the exact model number for your devices, and download them from the manufacturer directly if you can.

I ended up calling Lite-On tech support and they just had me go into registry and delete a few files and it fixed it up finally. Thanks for at least being willing to help m8!

Damn that was annoying.
