wow... that's great! :)

But I hear it's not too great if you lap too much. Some say it's better to not lap to a mirror finnish and have the thermal paste fill the gaps. But then again, who knows... :rolleyes: I guess as long as the surface is flat with the heatsink, there isn't much to worry about :p .

one thing i didnt do was start all the way with 400 grit to 2000<<(takes off alot of copper) i went from 1500 - 2000 had to rub hard thats all .then used compound. and there is still a few lines left u cant see them though only at certain angles but still looks sharp ;)
 
Do you have any before/after temperature readings, or is this going to be the initial install?
 
that was my one mistake :( but my friend has it same cpu and "he said" it was running below 34c so im hoping ido the same atleast or better.

but ill tell u the change with my old HS
 
im getting 35-40c... 3ghz intel, but my room is hot and the shit is heavyyy

one other thing in an abitic7 max3 mobo the heatsink install the wrong way( fans top, n bottom) compared to the instruction so the air pushing down instead of out towards the exhaust(side to sides). vbgz
