Is it likely that the Polaris launch will be derailed like the R9 290X by crypto miners?

I haven't heard much about it either way, what concerns me is that with the lower cost of the upcoming Polaris GPUs it will trigger a wave of buying that will drive up prices.

This of course is highly dependent on what Polaris is capable of in this area...
 
I predict these card are going to sell out fast.....I wouldn't wait long if needing one:)
 
Likely supply this go round will be higher so Mining will have less of an impact if it spikes. Although it doesn't seem to be as big as then.
 
I think if AMD was smart, they'd have planned for excess stock since the miners will heavily be going after the initial wave of cards.
 
Im planning on at least 5 of them. ive been looking for a preorder button daily about 3 weeks now. I love my 290s, but they are so hot and use so much power. can only run 3 of them per motherboard unless i daisy chain power supplies which im not fond of. i drool at the thought of 5 480s per motherboard with a single power supply.

For those of you out of the loop. Mining is ALMOST the most profitable i have ever seen. There was one week where doge coin was being pumped hard that i made $800 in a week, but for the most part of my mining i made $200-300 a month. Right now im making $900 a month in revenue, the only reason i wouldnt take out a small business loan and fill a data center is that Ethereum might switch to Proof of Stake which means no more mining.
