Hi, Im ordering a 260 GTX today and im wondering whether my pc will be able to take the card.

My PC is a AMD64 3200+ CPU and just 1 gb of RAM i think. Im buying a new pc soon - but need to buy this gfx in a hurry - cause I need to test a HDTV i just bought - my current gfx card is having trouble displaying 1080p signals on the TV.

I read here: http://www.gainward.de/media/files/Specifications/9368_GTX260_PCX_DD_896MB_datasheet.pdf , that system requirements to the gtx 260 is 2gb of ram and a duo core cpu

My question - will it run with just a 3200+ and 1 gb of RAM?

Yeah, it should be OK, although you'll want to upgrade soon, but while you have it, it'll still serve you well.

Edit: Wait a sec... 1 GB of RAM? Hmm... scratch that comment. I assumed you had 2+ GB of RAM. I'd advise you to hold off on the purchase until you have your full system together.

I'm sure it'll run. You just won't see as much of a performance benefit as you'd like -- not even close, I'd imagine. The general rule is... RAM doesn't increase your FPS, provided you have enough of it for a given game, but lack of it will cause all sorts of trouble, from stuttering due to hard drive access to lower performance.

ok, good to hear :) ... I was unsure if the "system requirements" was the same as minimum requirements - but I guess not
