I just bought an XFX 7800 GT OC'd to 450 Mhz.

Was gonna get an opteron 146, but they aren't around so I put the 3000+Venice in my new rig.

It seems like I should be able to push BF2 with everything on. I have 2 gigs of OCZ and a Raptor.

But when I max out AA to 4x the game will periodically quit to desktop.
When I turn off AA, it runs stable.

I wonder if the 7800 GT is too much for my 3000+ Venice.
 
Would a PCI audio card help also?

I was told it helps take load off the proc if I disable onboard sound and use a PCI sound card of good quality.

I had this exact same problem on my 7800. Didn't much matter what drivers I was using. Ended up selling BF2 because it's buggy shit

Well I need to get a walk through for overclocking my MSI NEO4 Platinum.

New to OC'ing and I hear my board dont OC well.

It is odd though that with AA set to 4x I get kicked to desktop.
I bet HL2 wont do that.

You can still OC. But the Vcore is limited on that board. I think 1.5 :eek:
 
sound like your video card might be overheating if it quits to the desktop repeatedly. Try new drivers.
