minimizing with SLI

Hi ive had SLI for a while and whenever is enabled and i want to alt-tab my games(usually bf2) just freeze and dont respond but if im using winamp or somethign in teh background i can still close it and such. now when i disable SLI i have no problem minimizing. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

my computer specs should be able to handle it:

Opteron 144 @ 2.7
G.skill PC4000 3-4-4-8
ASUS A8n32 SLI Deluxe
74gig raptor
300gig hd
500watt power supply
2 BFG 7800GT's

to this day, i CANNOT alt tab out of bf2, I dont think alt tabbing out of bf2 is wise to begin with, other games i have no problems, but bf2 seems to the one exception to where I cannot alt tab out of.
 
with nvidia cards ive found that alt tabbing heavily relies on drivers, some work perfectly, others dont. For BF2, it alt-tabs nicely if you escape to menu, then alt-tab
