Minimizing game loses signal

I have an X1950XTX. Whenever I minimize a game/get IMed/alt tab out, I lose video signal to the card and I have to reboot. Most of the time it actually crashes my machine (sound loops) or artifacts the video card.

It does it at stock speeds, with 6.10 beta cats, and all previous versions.

Anyone have any ideas?

im gonna try to be as helpful here as ATI support would be ....,

the answer is : don't minimize the game :)

LOL....well....its still happening constantly. Alt Tabbing out is like playing russian roulette with my monitor, except its backwards and theres only one empty chamber.

The damn thing loses signal just about everytime. Does anyone else have this happening to them?

there are whole bunch dvi problems right now ,

and it doesn't seem like ati is trying to fix it ,

the only thing you can do is go back to older drivers and see if it works better ,

or try the latest beta driver

You aren't kidding.

Some games allow me to ALT TAB easily but if I do it a lot the game will often crash.
Other games have terrible problems when using ALT TAB and sometimes require a reboot.
I am using the VGA (not DVI) connector in case that helps.

As bobrownik said, dont minimise the game :D
