Minimizing FAH clients?

Is there anyway to "icon-ify" the FAH clients into the task bar by the clock (like task manager does when you minimize it [ie. hide when minimized]). I don't want to run it as a service.

I'm running W2K right now, but will be switching to XP Pro in 3-4 days.

The gui client stays by the clock when it's minimized, and goes there automatically on startup. If you're running the no-nonsense console the only way to not have it appear on the screen is to run it as a service. In the past I believe the gui client was slightly slower due to the graphics, I don't know what the speed differences are now, if any.

You can alwasys use HideItX available on Larry's site. It won't minimize it to the tray, but it will get it off the toolbar. Just put a couple of shortcuts in the program menu, one for hiding and one for unhiding and you're set.

Fold On!

On my own machine at work, I use HideitX just like L_K suggests. I run it and I can either watch it doing nothing or I can hide it and unhide it at will. It's fun for the whole family!

I'm using a program, I think it's called "tray-it" It does exactly what you want.

http://www.teamcti.com/trayit/trayit.htm

Install it, then when you want to put something in the systray, right click on the X (what you would normally click on to close it) then right click on the icon in the systray and click "place in system tray" to make it permanent.

Only side effect is that it puts all my CMD windows into the systray now when I minimize them, but I don't really care.
