The recent marriage of a robotic floor cleaner and a Taser have created an odd marriage that will assist the military and law enforcement.

iRobot Corporation -- maker of bomb-handling and floor-sweeping machines -- has teamed up with the shocketeers at Taser International "to develop new robots that can remotely engage, incapacitate and control dangerous suspects," a company statement pronounces.

I believe what he means is, controlling the mass of people right here at home, to keep us from standing up for ourselves.

So you have to break the law and commit a crime to stand up for yourself? I'm still confused as to how your logic is working here.

i think he means crowd control.

1 final thing:

EXTERMINATE!!!!!

I have a feeling this device will pop up in prisons/riot control situations sometime in the near future.

The term "criminal" is subjective and has changed considerably in US history. Of course, you'd rather pretend that we aren't all already being illegaly wiretapped wouldn't you w1retap?
The term "illegally wiretapped" can be used subjectively. But yea, there are agents listening in on every one of my phone calls. ROFL.

Of course there are, whether or not someone's actively determining everything I'm saying or not is besides the point. The problem, is that when the laws change as they so often do there is now a nice long record of information with me saying all kinds of religious and or political views that may no longer jive with legality.

You're ignorant to think this couldn't happen, because it has many times over in the past. We're at a point in our own evolution that ignoring the power our rulers and the power technology have combined is so great it could easily circumvent everything that everyone I know and love who's fought for our freedom would become a sacrifice made in vain.

Quite frankly, as an American who loves and appreciates both freedom and liberty, your views belong over in post commie Russia or China. The unfortunate part of freedom, is that we have to accept anti liberty view points and poison our own ideological veins in order to truly be free.

People will continue to fight and die for an ideal that's slowly becoming less real, and more of a fantasy. I for one don't appreciate that.

/end 4th of July rant.

w1retap has been brainwashed by FOX news!

This is hilarious. You guys actually think you have a high enough status as a known terrorist in this world to be put on a government wiretap list? ahahah. wow. They wouldn't even waste the cpu resources on the mainframes for you newbs. Get off your high horses. :p

You on phone/internet: "omgeee liek tommy, do you want to play WoW now?!?!"
Gov't: "wow, this guy is pathetic." /disconnect

Anyhow, the point is they don't care about little johnny sonofabitch talking to his faggot friend. Yes, it is true, the government will choose a terrorist target to wiretap instead of you, for your own freedom.

You're obviously an armchair technician with little or no real world knowledge of how "wiretaps" work.

Go do a little reading about Echelon, and the NSA's standard SOP's before you run your mouth ignorantly.

You don't just pick some person in the world and "choose to tap them". You install intercepts at the hubs of ALL of the traffic, and then listen for key words, phrases, and voices for recognition of possibility of threat, at that point you forward the info to a database and leave it for review by what's likely not a well paid douchebag in a government office, who validates it. Obviously there are algorithm's in place to catch and sort data streams and forward them to people of differing levels of importance dependant on who's on the line.

I guarantee anytime OBL picks up a phone within 11 seconds of talking he's got a live stream direct to high level techs.

That's not my concern though, my concern is with the disregard for both liberty and the constitution having taken private communications and listened to them in order to determine the acceptability of them.

This is the legal precedent currently being broken, hence the term illegal.

You're a fool to think your conversations aren't listened to, or that our current communication anywhere at anytime online isn't listened to. You obviously haven't done any serious networking or data storage work either.

Audio streams can be greatly compressed, text even further...go do a little homework on the progress of artificial intelligence used to collect data in this fashion. Go do a little homework on the pre-Echelon systems and Centcom used to monitor US citizens 20 years ago.

Hell, this crap go's back to McCarthyism, and frankly thousands of innocent Communist's who had every reason and right to be here and vote for whatever the fuck random a-hole they wanted were deported at the time.

You goahead and put your headphones and blinders back on, and pretend that every bit of technology we decide to give them is going to be gumdrops and roses, and never end up being used against us(EVEN THOUGH THERE'S ALREADY SIGNIFICANT PROOF IT HAS).

They can do it outside these borders all they want, but recently have openly chosen to point it INSIDE and monitor domestic calls.

I'm sick of people talking about protecting freedom, while advocating abolishing freedom.

The viewpoint in itself is absolutely hipocritical, and entirely redundant.

Modern day hippies. I fucking HATE hippies.

I was pointing out how you were acting, not how it is done. ;) I am well aware how it is done, my uncle works in the government for a branch of intelligence on the home soil.

Also, I don't know where you are getting hippie talk from.. lol. I'm significantly far from that end of the spectrum. rofl. :p

I was pointing out the failures in your logic, and your similarity to hippies which I'm certain you dislike.

I've got quite a few family members in different places as well, of course not all of them are whistling dixie about our future as a country either.

Anyhow, I think if you find my thought process so ludicrous you mustn't have a very in depth understanding of how adept or capable this technology is of indexing and cataloging every little facet of our society.

Either that or you simply think that the use of the technology rests on the laurels of angels and we have no wrong doing to be concerned about, despite 150 years of Washington's blunders.

People with close family in government I usually expect to be more skeptical of such things, they usually have an inside tract on just how fucked up everything in Washington is.

Anyhow, your only argument in legality right now as the current abuse of the technology is concerned is that the President and the Executive powers have the legal right to ursurp both constitutional and all previous Judicial rulings. That's what's plainly in practice right now, I think there's no arguing that this isn't a legitimate use of power and has no place in any "freedom" loving country.

What'd we spend all those years fighting the commies for if we're going to simply emulate all the bad parts of their society?

I don't know if you read the news, but tens of thousands of calls have already been monitored domestically with absolutely no connection to terrorism. In fact a significant portion of the monitoring induced included obvious political schemery.

Your real world rant, is more based on your fantasy that everyone is looking out for your best interest. The longer you cling to the tits of the nanny state to protect you from your boogeymen the harder it will be for you to ever let go.

Seriously, you spend way to much time trying to look up new words in a thesaurus for what you are trying to say as a means of e-intimidation... or did you get extra credit in your 7th grade english class for that? :p Sit.
