Mini DP to DP works for Eyefinity?

I finally got my 3 monitors today

Dell P2210H's (link)

and I went to put them in an eyefinity configuration but something is wrong with the cable I bought.

I bought a Mini DP to DP cable from newegg (link)

Anyone else buy one of these? I connected everything and it will be fine for a minute but when I try to play a game at eyefinity resolutions CCC pops up and says my cable does not support this resolution, and to check the cable or my monitor. I tried plugging the cable into the other monitors but I get the same issue.

I figured that this MiniDP to DP would be the most elegant solution with no active adapters needed but either I got a bad cable or it doesn't work like this. Anyone ever try this eyefinity solution?
 
I bought a minidisplayport to displayport cable from monoprice.com and it works like a charm. I think it was just around 5 bucks plus shipping. Price might have gone up lately though. Check it out. I've got my 5970 connected to the NEC ea231wmi's displayport.
 
Must be the cable then, happen to know who made your cable, Id like to avoid StarTech.

Great site BTW, shipping is super cheap
