Hey guys,
I've read up on displayport a bit, and I know that the original displayport was video only - which was why I believed that HDMI would win the war. However, with mini-displayport/thunderbolt, obviously it has a few more uses now. I read that new Macbook Pros with the mini-displayport can output audio over the mini-displayport.
Is this true of the mini-displayport on the new Raedon series? Also, is it supported on most monitors past a certian spec?
Also, is the price break between 7000 series tiers worth it? I know 7850 and 7870s are around the 180s to 250s, and 7750s are only about 100. I know from the 7750s to further up, they get huge performance gains due to the increase memory, but where does the best power/price margin lie?
Note: Req: mid to high end Gaming, moderate price. ~200 is the most I would like to spend on the card.
