Let me start off by saying, I am the director of a coding/development team - we make plugins based off the Bukkit/CraftBukkit server for Minecraft SMP. We strive to make a hardcore / RPG feel to Minecraft based on levels and unique skills that you get when leveling up.
The Plugin:

Anyone can use / download it and place it on their private/public server.

I know that some players love minecraft but want more of a "rpg" feel and posting this to alert people that there are many types of Minecraft server hosts out there, including Sci-fi/etc
