I've come across this issue many times now.
Now, profile "migration" to and from the same version of Windows can be done by copying over the user directory in %systemdrive%\documents and settings. But when you copy from a windows 2000 machine to a windows xp machine, the profile doesn't work. In theory this is obvious, but I thought I'd try it any way.
My question is, how do I migrate a user profile from a Windows 2000 machine to a Windows XP machine?
Is there a tool? Will the File and Settings Transfer Wizard allow me to do this? The only info I found on File and Settings Transfer Wizard was XP to XP profile migration, not 2000 to XP as desired.
I would greatly appreciate information on this as soon as possible, being that it's for our Information Systems Manager (who will be returning Monday from vacation).
