Migrating IDE to SATA

Hey folks,

Searched the forum and found that others have had similiar problems - but haven't had any luck with the suggested solutions... So here I am.

Purchased a MaxLineIII SATA drive to replace my WD CaviarSE IDE. MB is an Asus K8NE-Deluxe Nforce3 250GB board - which has native SATA support. Used the MaxBlast software to move everything and set the drive up with bootable partition.

SATA controller is enabled in bios and the drive is first in the boot order. (Does not show up as Primary Master - but as Third Master, but anyway...)

With a boot disk, I can see and explore the drive. When it is the only HD, it is accessed as C:

I tried loading the nvidia chipset/raid drivers and running WinXP install "Repair an existing installation."

All I get - after the POST and flash screens is a cursor (not blinking) on the upper left hand side of an otherwise blank screen.

Thanks, in advance, for your help,
David
