Migrate only some files?

Hey guys, I just got my new (and first) SSD, samsung 840.

I'm trying to migrate the data with their tool, but Its not letting me select which files/folders I want to include/exclude.

The drive its trying to clone is 795GB which has over 250GB of games alone, all to this new 250GB SSD...

I don't want to clone the games and other things, but it only lets me unselect videos/music/pictures.

How do I do this?
 
Do yourself a favor and do a fresh install. Most all of the image transfer software that the manufacturers include are just for complete copies. Decide which software you want to run from the SSD, and which you wish/need to leave on the hard drive. Make a complete backup of your existing boot drive before you begin, then do a fresh install to the SSD of the OS/Apps for the SSD and then install apps, move documents, saved games etc to whatever drive you have decided to move them to..
 
+1 on the fresh install. might seem like more work, but it will save you lots of headaches later.
 
Well, I would but I don't want to go through the headache.

I thought the next time I do a fresh install I'd probably move to windows 8.1 or something.

I just wanted to move the OS, chrome, and a few other things to make it feel speedy of my current install, and be painless.

I highly doubt that I could run programs off of my (now) 2nd hard drive if I install windows 8 on my SSD?


I'm just not sure whats the best route for me to go.
 
maybe you can put all the extra files (games, etc) on a separate drive and then just clone the drive to the ssd once you get below 250gb. still think you should do a fresh install, but its your time and decision.
