Not sure if this belongs here, as it's storage, or memory, as it's flash memory..but here's the deal:

I just bought a Corsair Voyager 2gb flash drive. My 512 was limiting me (many times I needed to carry an ISO), so I want to set up the 512 as a bootable drive/utilities drive, and use the 2gb for my daily carrying.

But, I'd like to set it up so I have 256mb set for partition one for my personal items...and the remainder for mass storage.

Can this be done?

Since I'm currently at work and lack the priveleges to format anything on this system, I can't test it out on my own...hence my asking rather than trying.
 
Shouldn't be any problem with Linux anyways; fdisk it and make 2 fat32 partitions, then format them. I don't know how Windows will recognize that, though; I think it assumes removable drives are only one drive letter. Maybe make one of the drives non-windows-readable - ext2 or jffs. What are you putting on the bootable portion?

 
Basically the 512mb I have will be formatted so I can use it to flash BIOS's instead of dealing with floppies.





As far as the 2gb drive (which is what I want partitioned), I know there are ways to do it w/ the included software, but apparantly you have to have the software installed on any PCs using it to see the data. That's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something I can take from 1 PC to an alien one, and have it show 2 partitions...

Kinda negates the usefulness of it if you've gotta use their software. what a pain in the butt.
There's gotta be something. I'll look around. I haven't had a need to do so at this point, since i'm just on a small drive. 128 megs. that's all I need for most things. PPT files and such.
