Might be a dumb question...

Is a Displayport to DVI cable the same as a DVI to Displayport? I want to go from my DVI port on the video card to the Displayport on the monitor. Will this do it?

It says it right in the description:
While DisplayPort connectors are capable of passing a DVI signal, DisplayPort and DVI signals are basically different and not compatible with each other. In order for this cable to function properly, you must have a DisplayPort source device capable of producing and passing out a DVI signal through the DisplayPort jack.

So for that cable to work you would need a graphics card with Displayport output and a display with DVI input.

But since most displays have DVI too, you should just use a DVI cable. It will look exactly the same.

I guess I should read more. The problem is, I am already using the DVI and VGA ports of the monitor.
