Looking for a little advice here
it is amazing how much the landscape changed on video cards in a couple years. Im going to be building a new personal rig in the next few weeks and starting to do my homework on video cards. Plan to go with an nforce4 chipset 939 A64 board, so that means the jump to PCI-e. My old ti4200 is what Im making a jump from. I do Win32 and Linux, so Im leaning towards Nvidia unless things have changed. If possible, Im looking in the $200-250 range dont have $1200 for a top end SLI setup these days.
Anyhow, the 6600GT workable as a mid range graphics card? Ive looked around for SLI reviews using the 6600, but they seem more focused on the faster cards once you start talking SLI. Id be going single card for a good while anyhow, and not totally sold on SLI anyhow.
Currently running a pair of 21 Hitachi 814s when working, and flip to one when playing.
