I haven't had to buy a case recently and haven't kept up with it. Im looking for a black mid-tower case. Most of what I find belong on a spaceship which is what I dont want.. Any suggestions?

The antec 300's or the antec 900's are pretty simple

900 has a side panel window
300 does not

I've got a Lian-Li PC-9F that I'm pretty happy with so far. Got a good black friday deal on it (along with a deal on an ATX motherboard, which forced my hand from a mATX motherboard/ case). If I were going new right now, I'd look for a micro ATX motherboard and pair it with a Silverstone PS07. Of course, your needs (video cards, etc) may vary.

I just for a Lian-Li k58W with a side window and I really like it for $49.99.

Newegg had it on a shell shocker deal and I understand that it is a bit older but it is still very nice without too much flash. There is a k60 or k62 that also has the top fans installed. Mine just had front & back and is not painted inside.

Since they are a couple years old you may find a deal. They are big! Biggest mid tower I ever seen.

I second the Lian Li PC-9F. Lots of info in this thread with example systems. Got it Newegg for a pretty decent price. Love the quality too.

Just looked at the LIAN LI Lancool PC-K7B also. Most of them look the same except drive space.

Depends on what you need/want. Do you want USB 3.0 ports? Would you like intake fan filters for dust prevention? Good cable management options to hide cable mess? But yeah, most of them are sufficient and similar except for aesthetic looks. Whats your budget by the way?

The PC-K7B has a removable motherboard tray I think and is steel construction vs the PC9-F which does not but is of aluminium construction. Don't know if the K7B has filters though. Lots of choices depending on what you are looking to spend = ) All I can say from my point of view is that the PC9-F is the best one of the two by my choice, but you cant go wrong on either. Choices Choices.

I'd also have a look at the Bitfenix and Corsair cases also.
