I was wondering if this was a decent Mid-Range System and if all the parts we're compatible. I am going to use the CD-RW and DVD Drives from my current computer. Any comments + suggestions are welcome. The budget is $600, but I'm buying this @ Christmas, so I may need to update some stuff later.

I'm going to overclock the processor to somewhere around 2.2Ghz or a bit lower.

Looks like a nice system, but Christmas is a LONG ways away... might have a different vid card and HDD (possibly motherboard and chip too) that will be better at that time.

I would suggest you keep looking and reading.

Yea, I mentioned I may change parts as Christmas gets closer.

Could you just get the budget for Christmas and spend it after? Or $600 cash on Christmas? That would probably be your best bet, IMHO.

if you're going to OC, i'd say go w/ a 2600+ Mobile chip and a DFI LANParty Ultra II Rev B

make sure that whatever motherboard you get HAS a PCI lock, if not, you won't be able to OC...nvm, this is really only an issue w/ my next suggestion

i say wait until Christmas and configure an A64 system, they'll be dirt cheap by then and you'll be a lot happier w/ one...

also, i'd say get dual channel. 2x256 > 1x512
if you want to upgrade you can always sell your RAM again later...
