mid range build question?

Hi,

I have an awkward situation, normally I build the fastest system I can afford which is somehow easier to figure out which components to buy.

But now I need to build a 'mid-range' system for a friend. About a 1000$ budget. I find I'm totally out of my element. I have no idea what chipset/mobo/cpu would be considered the sweet spot for price/perf. in this mid-range sector?

Any ideas?

this should be in general hardware section but i'll answer anyway and throw and idea.. i made this build for a friend a week ago.. so this should work for you.. .

you can toy with RAM, CPU, HDD and or Case there... you may want to increase to 16GB RAM or want to change that i5 to a i7 4790K anyway its just an general idea.. HDD, Case should be near 1000$ =) and still will be a very powerful machine..
