While I am not sure why anyone would microwave a PS3 in the first place, but it sure is fun to watch. The console held up a lot better than the controller did, though neither survived the incident. Here’s a screencap from the 12 minute video.

Lemme guess... either a super rich guy that doesn't give a fuck about wasting $400... or some lame teen that just wanted to see what it would do cause it's "totally wicked".

Both make me sick and as stated above... these type of displays are worthless.

Probably a dead / out of warranty console....what else would you do with it?

I'm trying to talk Kyle into shooting PC stuff with that .50 cal of his...now that'd be fun stuff!

Anyhow, hardware distruction is pretty funny.

I hate this retards that make these videos.
They are truly special specimens, but I despise people that take this sort of thing personally even more. Like the people that got the video flagged, or the people that flamed him in the comments.

Seconded on all accounts. Rich or curious teenager, it would seem like a waste if it was a perfectly working console.

And for the people who hate these videos, consider this:

This person potentially spent $400 at minimum for the console, plus the cost of a video recording device, be it a phone or an actual camera/camcorder, for the sole pupose of putting up a video like this. Really, if anything, that should make you feel better about yourself as a person that you aren't trying to spend your way into internet fame.

Like two years back I took my x-box, ps2, and a few spare computer parts and printers out camping. We blew the hell out of them with a variety of weapons (no .50 cal for me), swept up the garbage, and off we went. Felt really good to kill that x-box since it was the 3rd one I had to buy.

I think of it as, the best way to get hated on the internet. ;)

Shooting old computer parts is fun! I'm not a gun nut by any means but shooting inanimate objects can be a blast, especially pc parts that have been a pita.

Even it wasn't a dead ps3, why do you guys care if they destroy it? Lets hope they go out and buy more to help stimulate the economy!

If it was out a warranty Sony would have given a refurb for $149 shipped both ways. Ijits

The console could have even been stolen, so no money wasted for them personally.

As far as "wasting" $400... How many hardware components do you think people in this forum have "wasted" by trying to overclock the crap out of them? I'm thinking it's way beyond $400, and even a lot more money! :p

You think blowing up $400 is a waste? Think about how much each missiles and bombs and ammunition cost in the military intended for one time use ;-)

The difference is bombs and ammunition were designed for that purpose. The PS3 wasn't designed for nuking, although many would argue that. ;)

haha, true but still.. a couple million bucks to block up one building or one tank (which incidentally also cost a few thousand or million)..

think of how many Playstations we could've bought! ;-)

Honestly the "Destroy X console" videos ceased being funny years ago. I didn't even bother watching this one.

Maybe he was following one of those videos to how to fix his PS3 if it stopped playing Movies. Like the ones where they drop eggs onto the DVD then sandpaper the DVD then microwave them and suddenly they look new again.

Who cares what they do with it. It's their money to burn (literally in this case) and its not like you can't go into any store and get a PS3 off the shelf.

Destroying things is fun. I can't believe all the little crybabies. Turn in your man cards.

I shoot computer hardware all the time. I ordered an AR-50 of my own, so I'll definitely be shooting some hardware with it.

This reminds me of that video years ago where they tied a Gamecube to a vehicle and dragged it for miles and it still worked before they literally smashed it with a sledgehammer or something :p

Thanks alot! I just wasted who knows how much time watching videos of things getting nuked! Plasma globes, lava lamps, light bulbs, hour glasses, etc.

The PS3 vid was lame. Flames, a little melted plastic, that's it. I'd rather see it get shot.

It seems everyone is under the impression that this guy just nuked a PS3 for kicks.

It's not the first thing he has nuked. It won't be the last. CHeck his channel, it's full of pretty cool things he does with a microwave.

Watch the video, he makes the PS3 a little piece in the end. Read the bio, he turns all of his nuked pieces into art.

Kinda cool. Expensive, but then again, I've dumped a few thousand into photography, so I see little difference with this.

Just another in a million trying to be big on the video and make it in the next weezer video.

Haha, burn and feel the hate! :p

Of course, everyone got their own hobbies and things to do.

Ya I don't see why the complainers are bitchin. Who cares what he does with his PS3, I wouldn't care if he put BBQ sauce all over it and tried to eat it.

His hardware his money.

I didn't even bother to watch the video because it doesn't interest me at all but to complain about it is pretty lame.

So places like [H] will link to it. ~$600 for the exposure they're getting, that's a bargain. Too bad they're ripping off a site that did it back in the day with a PS2 when they were extremely rare after launch.

My bro and I have been saving old dead/dying hard drives and a printer for a shooting gallery for a few years now. We still haven't gotten around to it yet, but have managed to deal out some death to a CRT monitor. It think it's the one case where working hardware should be put down. ;)

Funny that word crybaby crossed my mind when I saw the comment the author put up after his video got flagged, blaming PS fanboys and say he wont microwave an xbox because of that... aww, poor kid.

but will it blend....
This is 100 times more fun to watch:D

Always love those blending videos.

Microwave is just plain boring to watch, i stop watching half way though. Its like sitting in front of my microwave watching it warming up some leftovers
