Microsoft's OmniTouch: Touchscreen On Any Surface

*snooze*

They do this same stuff with kids where they stomp on stuff on the ground and the picture moves....

pretty neat... I think the latency is still a huge issue though, it's nowhere near as fast/responsive as a touchscreen. Still, it might be practical for kiosks or atms

lol, yeah that in particular is like from what... the 80s? I think this isn't much different, it's just more advanced... still a ways to go IMO

2:29 - he was totally writing "Get fucked".

It's a nice thought. On my list too.

You can see him make the "O" for the next letter.

My question, how much is one of these? When will gen two tech of this be out?

Justin Timberlake can already do this..

P0rn will revolutionize this tech just like audio and video streaming... lol

Actually kind on a neat idea, though I agree the tech has been around for awhile. I wouldn't want that thing sitting on my shoulder though unless the dress it up to look like the gun from the Predator movies... :)

Rather than a projector, I want to see this used with see-through displays on glasses for some augmented reality/minority report stuff.

This is neat but I am trying to figure out a valid application for it. Some people suggested porn... what am I going to do, project a virtual keyboard onto some chick's chest? Hmmm.

Now shrink this down into some sci-fi sunglasses with the micro projector and integrate a phone with bluetooth... interesting.

This reminded me of the TED demonstration by Pranav Mistry a few years back on his sixth sense system.. kinda neat to see it being fully developed.

Quoted for awesomeness.

Besides, this is such bullshit, fat people are gonna get more app's... right.

What resolution can it be set to? Can I rearrange my desk so that my desktop -- that is my literal desktop -- and nearby walls become -- shall we say.. Star Trek-ish in their use and functionality.

The mobility is awesome, or will be when made smaller, as it stands a few projector systems like that around an office or room (heck even the kitchen to help with recipes, timers for cooking ON the pot, pan, or over door) could be hidden or at least partiality concealed.

Ok, so I want this for my house. Wire the whole house. Porn anywhere, um err, maybe not I have a teenage boy in the house and the stains might get annoying.

Sadly I dont see this tech being available or affordable anytime soon unless your name is Bill G or 'The Woz' maybe.

im seeing a lot of news on this thing lately. I think it'll be a really nice thing for museums and art galleries to make people feel more engaged.
WOnder what type of custom stuff people will do with aaxa's p4 projector. being battery powered and having 80 lumens seems like it would be powerful enough for someone with a good imagination to do some neat stuff.
