I just wound up with a very cheap wireless desktop 2.0 package from my local target, they had it marked 14.98, it rang up at 58.XX dollars, but since they screwed up and put the wrong sticker on it, they gave it to me for the lower price.

Anyway, the mouse included (Wireless optical mouse 2.0) has microsoft's tilt wheel. I thought the left/right functionalities would be able to be re-mapped to other functions, like a back button for internet explorer. The software microsoft provides does not give any options for the tilt part of the wheel other than to change the speed and turn it off completely.

Am I just missing something in the setup program, or is there really no way to re-map the tilt wheel. Is there any other (3rd party) mouse software program that would allow me to do what I want to do?

None that I'm aware of.

Have you seen if you can bind wheelleft and wheelright to stuff in games? I'm curious.

You can't remap it as on now. It maybe in later releases. I have the same mouse and its a no go.

Cheers,

anybody know of a scripting program that I could have "watch" for the left/right scroll functions, then assign something like the browser back command? As for right, I'd probably use that for Alt+Tab, which would be easier.

If you are really generous, i'd prefer spoonfeeding on how to set the stuff up.
