Microsoft Interested In Buying AMD?

I loved the crap out of Warp4, it's been so long I can't remember why I ended up in Windows, but it was probly either hardware drivers or software availability. Which sounds a lot like Windows/Linux, might be a pattern there.

Also, BeOS!

BEgin Discussing :)

BeOS!! I forgot about that one completely! Well, we may as well herald the return of Amiga Workbench while we're at it!

Never used Amiga, but I ran Be on a dual P2 Unisys server I bought cheap on craigslist for a good while and it was awesome. Damn shame it faded away.

Never put down the Amiga OS! :p You can actually buy fulling working Amiga computers that run OS 4.01. However, they are not cheap but definitely fast and work quite well. However, I just use Amiga Forever and I have to say, my Amiga 500 that I used to own with a 68030 upgrade and OS 2.01 was the best computer I have ever owned. :)

That is saying a lot considering I think of my new computer as very good as well.

I don't think I'd like that happening. Microsoft would likely make a hard-locked ecosystem like Apple does and only offer their best versions of OS and productivity/development apps if you buy their hardware. Anyone not buying their hardware would be stuck with watered-down "lite" editions.

Never would! I love the Amiga. Had a 500, 2000, and had friends with 500s, 1200s, etc.

These days, I run WinUAE, and AmiKit, which is a pretty cool HD install especially for a more casual game/demo type user like myself. I still have my box of floppies stashed away, but it's nice to click on a hard drive image for a game you used to have to swap disks for.
