I am probably going to purchase a new motherboard and processor for a nice C2D setup and was wondering if there are any hotfixes you guys are applying after an XP installation that Intel recommends. If there are some I will slipstream them into my install disc prior to loading windows.

Edit: I am referring to Microsoft KB articles such as this one.

Well alot of games still do not officially support multi-cores by default, usually hot-fixes of some sort have to be applied to take full advantage of both cores. I don't know of anyone who has used this exact hot-fix, lets see what others think

I installed the patch on my P4 HT maching and installed the reg patch, I can say it hasn't fixed or broken anything, may be useless on a intel machine, it was a patch intended for AMD x2's.

And before anyone asks, i did it for fun to see if it would damage/fix anything.
