Microsoft Delays XP-64

It looks as though Microsoft has pushed back the Windows XP 64-bit version and Windows Server 2K3 SP1 to the second half of 2005. No reason was given.

Looks like what i said a few months back is going to hold true. 64-bit isn't going to matter for another couple of years.

Driver support for XP-64 is still crap as well.

This will leave me plenty of time to upgrade to a 64-bit extended processor next year :).

I havn't decided if i will go with an A64 or whatever Intel is offering next year. Dual core CPU's should be out next year so that will change everything.
 
64-bit doesn't matter because the "Wintel" archetecture hasn't caught up yet. My DEC 2000 running OSF/1 AXP is entirely 64 bit and is about 10 years old :)
