Hello,

Im looking micro server for home esxi environment (Plex, files, movies etc..)
I need microserver who will be able to run with 32 GB RAM on E3 xeon.
HT/VTd-x must be supported

Any advice ?

Many thanks

The specs on the Fractal Design 304:
"Mini ITX, Mini DTX motherboard compatibility"

The SuperMicro X10SL7-F is Micro-ATX ..so it won't fit in that case.

Figure out what motherboard you are going with, then an appropriate sized case.

As far as my link ... in my sig ...but here:

See "Item #3".

I guess I can get a picture of it .... but it is all stock.

FWIW, I'm about to build several AMD APU based ones - plenty of mATX boards to pick from for that.

Hello

I understand this is hardware raid based on LSI chipset ?
8x SAS2 (6Gbps) via LSI 2308 - CanI connect SATA disks as well ? (WD)

This chassis Lian Li PC-V351B PC is really nice.

1. uATX is MicrocATX/MATX/mATX - all the same
2. X10SL7-F has a LSI chipset for SAS drives or SATA (If using SATA then you need a (2x) SFF 8087 to 4x SATA breakout cables.
3. The Lian Li 351B is a great case. I have several of them. Will it meet your needs? Only you can answer that. It will fit a mATX and ITX board though,

I need to put onother one ESX in one of my home locaion. I need something smaller one. I was thinking about HP micro server, BUT limitation to 16 GB. I need 32. I have vCenter in linked mode based on win 2008. so only this VM takes 4 GB + 2 GB local AD controller.

Please answer on my question. What about differences between Lian Li PC-V351B case and HP Gen8 micro server case. Which one is bigger ?

You can figure that out. Just look at the measurements. I'm not doing that as only can can decide how big is "too big".

The MoBo has 8x normal SATA ports and you can connect normal SATA disks to those just fine. You will only need breakout cables if you want to connect those SATA ports to a SAS backplane.
