I have a Jasco microphone, and I cant get it to work over AIM, let alone anything else. Is there a fail-proof way to check whether or not the thing actually works, or do I need special drivers?

well, i tried it, and the mic still isnt working. I dont know...maybe its shot. I dont get it though. Any other suggestions?

make sure that you have the mic turned on in windows. i did that with mine and it dawned on me that it was muted.

control panel>sounds & audio devices>audio tab>volume button under "sound recording"

make sure that the right device is set to be recording and the volume is turned up enough.
