Microphone choppy after reformat

My mic use to work fine...now when i use it its all choppy.

Its choppy on TeamSpeak, Pal Talk & HL Mods.

all my sound drivers are installed just like they were before...and DXDiag reports NO problems.

The mic isn't muted and the volume is at a good level.

I've tried moving the connector around on the back of the card to see if it was just a bad connection, but no luck there...

what could it be ?
