Micron Opens New Facility In China

According to this DigiTimes news item, Micron has officially announced the opening of a new manufacturing facility in China.

Micron hosted a ceremony at the facility with company, government and community officials on hand. The facility is expected to be built-out by the end of 2008 at an investment of US$250 million and support up to 2,000 employees. The plant is Micron's second assembly and test facility in Asia, with its first being opened in Singapore in 1998.

Once again, an alleged US company acting in a manner directly in contradiction to US national security and national economic security best interests.

Micron should lose all US patent coverage in return, auction off thier intellectual property to other US companies who pledge to build US factories ONLY, and pay thier fair share in taxes.

The electronics industry is commiting a two fold act of treason, moving plants overseas that use/make state-of-the-art dual use military/national security components in order to AVOID paying thier fair share in TAXES, while enjoying the patent protection for thier technology. And building state of the art facilities in potential enemy country's placing the US in potential jeopardy, and transferring technology to potential enemy forces.

It is treason, the penealty for which should be death.... death for a corporation is to pull all its patent protection and feed its entrails to the wolves.

Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

The Congress shall have power to declare the punishment of treason, but no attainder of treason shall work corruption of blood, or forfeiture except during the life of the person attainted.

Somehow I doubt we are at war with or consider our largest trading partner an enemy. They may be ideologically diferent but they are far from an actively hostile nation.
