so when i plug in the front audio to my motherboard, should i plug in the microphone wire into the sound pin w/e it is called, and plug in the sound into the mic pin?
i didnt know if this is how you do it due to a wire backwards or something?

Alright, since the wires are backwards or something, i got the aduio to work. had to plug in my mic into the head set jack, and headset into the mic jack. Only problem is, there is a slight beep noise in the background of the sound when it is connected to the front audio?

You must have gotten one of the first released ones. They all have the mic and headphone switched, AND they have noise in the background for the headphone jack. Supposedly Ultra will gladly send you a new board with it, but I just didn't bother. To get rid of the noise, switch the ports so you have to plug your headphones into the mic jack and vice versa.

good grief. i spent 45 minutes plugging and unplugging those front panel jack leads every which way. thanks a ton for that heads-up.

i guess i'll plug in the headphone and the mic and live with the poor recording quality until i get a replacement from ultra. i don't feel like telling my client to plug his headphones into the mic jack and vice versa with his microphone on his new computer.

question: if i don't hook up the front panel GND lead will that in any way affect audio output or recording quality?
