Yeah I need to get over there and exchange my Asus P8P67, just haven't felt like taking the machine apart. Wonder what I should get.
I somewhat lucked out. I told them that I was supposed to get a $25 gc due to the recall but they gave me a $20gc instead. So I just upgraded to the PRO for $10 difference because the PRO combo was on sale last weekend for only $30 more the the regular MB combo.
PS If you go this route please prepare for a complete windows install because I get the BSOD and had to reinstall windows 7.
WHAT THE FUCK.
I'm pretty pissed. I just called my MircorCenter about the recall, and they told me I have to ship my motherboard to the manufacturer?
I got the survey email, but nothing else from them, not even a letter like my friend in New York received. I'm not about to spend the money to ship this thing to asus when it is something microcenter needs to take care of. Anyone get a similar answer form MC about this? How'd you fix it?
Um I called today. I've been working a shutdown for the last 3 months, so I haven't had a day off. Besides, the email posted on page one of this thread says May 15th
It's an hour away. But I'm going to disassemble everything, grab my receipt and drive down there anyway. I'll raise hell if I have to, I'm not mailing my board off when MC is the one who should be taking care of this, like they have for their other customers.
Walked in with the motherboard, manual, and CD/DVD in static control plastic bag to return desk on 5/5 pm . . no letter or receipt or box . . they scanned the mb serial # and immediately gave me a credit.
I brought it in to the returns desk and was in and out in 10 minutes. There were zero problems. Which is good because I was expecting some. tThumbs up to microcenter, just not over the phone lol
