Microcenter Returns to the Bay Area

Will drop by for old time's sake but the cheapest 5090 is the $2900 Zotac and will only be getting the free thumbdrive lol.
I thought the primary primary appeal of Microcenter was when they had those insane MB/CPU or RAM combos that were always "in store only" making people actually contemplate driving 4 hours for it

And Phenix AZ is going to be getting one as well after they lost Fry's Electronics years ago.

Microcenter has a building permit for the partial interior demolition of the old Conn's Home Plus building at 4531 E Thomas Rd

Reminds me of my brief time I spent in USA in 2000 when my brother had me purchase PC parts to be assembled from San Jose Frys

Those are nice, yes. but when you look at some items and they are sometimes cheaper than Amazon or Newegg (most of the time same cost) and you get it the same day, I think it's worth it for the 30 min drive to get to the Miami MC. I picked up a HX1500i for $299, Amazon and Newegg both had it for $399 at the time. That was worth the drive, and I ended up getting the 5090 as well, the last one on the shelf.

It reminds me a bit of TigerDirect stores that replaced CompUSA, but better. More selection, better parts and better prices.

I just hope they don't expend too quickly and it bites them in the ass.

For me the San Jose store is about 40+ minutes (no traffic) and contemplating the cost of gas that's probably $10+ worth of gas, so I need to be really tempted in going there. When we had Fry's here too it was a rare treat to go, but fuck me it was annoying when I got home and had crap that didn't work and I had to drive all the way back, then go through song and dance at the entrance where they plugged the stuff in to see if it in fact doesn't work, and that was when gas was under $2/gallon, but still the drive time got old real quick.

Asus tuf 5090 in stock for 2750, can't say didn't think about it but it's too big for my case and I am not paying 2900 for the stupid ventus...

Oh CompUSA.....where are you when we need you most....oh, right, bankrupt.

This place stays in business against all odds by being the only Computer Electronics shop left standing. Having said all that, if I had one near me I'd probably go monthly because #nerd.
